Fort Lauderdale Beach is unquestionably the major attraction in Gay Friendly Fort Lauderdale, with 23 miles of uninterrupted ocean coastline that are among the nation's cleanest, safest, white sand beaches. The more popular area is the southern section, from Sebastian Street south since many gay owned and gay friendly resorts and businesses are located near here. Fort Lauderdale also has a large selection of all-welcoming, gay friendly hotels and intimate gay guesthouses. Gay nightlife in Fort Lauderdale continues seven nights per week, with large clubs, neighborhood bars and options for women and older gay men. Victoria Park is the long established gay neighborhood, but Wilton Manors has become the most popular gay area in town.
PrideFest is a celebration of the LGBT community and its unique culture. Taking place at the Holiday Park / War Memorial Auditorium in March, it is a weekend event which includes entertainment both days, local DJ’s and many more surprises! Also featured are over 250 vendors, comedy shows, music, food, and a dance tent which has a great dance floor. Stonewall Pride of Greater Fort Lauderdale marks the 1969 Stonewall riots in June, with an art exhibit, car show, vendors and parade. The Sol Theatre Project has earned a loyal gay following for its edgy, contemporary programming, often with gay themes.
